Structural SteelStructural Steel

Structural steel is a form of metal used in the construction of buildings and other structures. Structural steel comes in many different forms. Some common forms include I-beams, S-beams, columns, and clip angles.

Before a structure can be erected, the structural steel that will be used to form the structure must be fabricated by a steel fabricator. Using structurally- and architecturally-designed plans, an in-house drafting department prepares detailed shop and field erection drawings. Then, steel fabricators prepare the steel needed for the job by cutting it to specification, bending it, and welding necessary pieces together. A steel erector takes over once all of the metal has been fabricated and erects the structure pictured in the drawings using the structural steel fabricated by the metal fabricators.

Most steel companies specialize in either structural steel fabrication or erection, but at Artisan Industrial Metals of Kentucky, we specialize in both. Using one company for all of your metal fabrication and erection needs saves you time and money, and you don't have to worry about the issues that commonly arise when trying to coordinate two companies that are doing the job of one.

Every great project starts with a sound structure, and at Artisan Industrial Metals, customer satisfaction is our number one priority.
